Iris Lasaothel was born in 1488 AD in Yorkshire town, England, in a poor family. His mother died at the time of his birth and he was brought up by a peasant woman. When this girl was brought to the farmer's house, suddenly strange incidents started happening in his house. Chairs and stools started moving on their own. The plates started moving. Sometimes the food prepared for the family would disappear. After a few years these incidents stopped on their own.
When the girl grew up a bit, she started treating people with simple medicines made from herbs and curing their incurable diseases. She didn't charge for medicines etc. At the age of 24, she was married to a carpenter named Shipton, but her husband died soon after the marriage.
Later she became famous all over the world by the name of Mother Shipton, adopting her husband's name. With her spiritual powers, she used to tell the past, future and present events to the people and at the same time cures various diseases. People from far and wide came to him to know their future and his predictions came true.
One day a stranger disguised himself came to his house and knocked on the door. Without seeing him from inside, Mother Shipton took his name and called out to him that I know that a certain priest has sent you to ask this question and you have come in disguise. The person sent by the priest was very surprised that how this woman came to know about my name and work etc.
Mother Shipton told him that a certain church in Yorkshire would be destroyed. After a few years that church actually collapsed and was destroyed. Mother Shipton used to make her predictions in the form of poems in English. He had told four hundred years ago that the plague would spread in London in the form of an epidemic and there would be a terrible fire in London, which would cause a lot of damage and huge loss of life and property.
His prediction turned out to be absolutely true. He told that after hundreds of years a huge house would be built in London, which would be made of glass. The Crystal Palace of London is proof of the truth of this prophecy even today. Not only this, he had made detailed predictions about the invention of motor cars, engines, airplanes and radio 600 years ago.
In 1587, Queen Mary of Scotland would be beheaded, whose leader would be Oliver Cromble, and there would be a civil war. He had already told about the discovery of a big country (America).
Mother Shipton had already predicted her death that she would die after the age of 73 years. This prediction turned out to be true. He actually attained the age of 73 years and died in 1561 AD. Even today millions of people visit the cave in the mountain where Mother Shipton spent her life every year to pay homage.
