Parkinson's risk can be reduced through exercise
A recent study has suggested that the risk of Parkinson's disease can be reduced with a little care. The study, published in the medical journal American Academy of Neurology, found that physical exercise such as bicycling, walking, cleaning and playing sports can reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's disease is a neurological condition that affects a small group of nerve cells (neurons) in a part of the brain. It usually starts with a tremor in one arm and can later affect other limbs as well.

Told that people who exercised more had a 25 percent lower risk of Parkinson's disease than those who didn't exercise. Study author Alexis Elbaz, from the Insarm Research Center Paris, said the study provided evidence of protection against Parkinson's. The study included 95,354 female participants, mostly teachers. Their average age was 49 years. These people did not have Parkinson's disease before the study. Researchers followed them for three decades, during which 1,074 participants were diagnosed with Parkinson's.
