At the age of ninety, Abraham's wife 'Sarah' gave birth to a son. He was named 'Isaac'. Before the birth of 'Isaac', Abraham had made the maidservant 'Hagar' who had come with him from Egypt as his concubine. He had a son named 'Ismail' from her.
After the birth of 'Isaac', Sarah asked Abraham to expel Hagar and her son from the house. She did not want a handmaid's son to inherit Abraham's inheritance with her son.
Abraham was saddened by this. But, God said to him, “Abraham. As Sarah said. do the same Get Hagar and Ishmael out of the house. Your dynasty will continue through Isaac. Don't worry about Ishmael either. He is also your son. That's why I will create a great nation through him too.
By obeying God, Abraham gave bread and water to Hagar. Then Ishmael was thrown out of the house by putting him in his lap.
Now Abraham started living with Sarah and his son Isaac.
One day God tested Abraham. She called his name, "Ibrahim, Ibrahim."
Abraham replied, "I am here."
God said to him, "Abraham, I command you to go to Moriah country with your most beloved son. Sacrifice him on the mountain that I will tell you there.
Abraham woke up early in the morning and tied the saddle on his donkey. Then prepared wood for the burnt offering and left for Moria country with his son Isaac. There were also two servants with him.
He went on for three days. On the third day he reached the country of Moriah. There he raised his head and saw Mount Moriah. He said to his servants, “You guys stay here and take care of the donkey. I am going ahead with my son. I will return after worshiping in some time.
Both the servants stopped there. Abraham put the wood of the burnt offering on the back of his son Isaac. With fire and dagger in hand, he started moving forward with Isaac.
Isaac understood that they were going for the sacrifice. But, he could not understand where the sacrificial lamb was. He asked Abraham, “Father! We have fire and wood. But, where is the lamb of the house? How shall we sacrifice?
Abraham replied, “Son! Have faith in God. He will arrange for us the lamb of the house."
In some time both reached the place told by God. Abraham built an altar there and decorated it with wood. Then he tied his son Isaac and laid him on the altar.
Now he was ready to sacrifice his only son as per the order of God. He picked up the dagger and pointed it at Isaac. Then he heard the voice of the messenger of the Lord, "Ibrahim, Ibrahim."
Abraham replied, "I am here."
The messenger said, “Don't raise your hand on the boy; Do not harm him in any way. I have come to know how much you have faith in God. You did not refuse to give me even your only son.
When Abraham raised his eyes, he saw a ram stuck in a bush. Abraham took the ram out of the bush and sacrificed it in place of his son. He named that place 'Prabhu's Management'.
The angel of the Lord called again to Abraham, “This is the word of the Lord. You did not refuse to give me even your only son. I will always shower blessings on you. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand of the sea, and they will be able to capture the cities of their enemies. You have obeyed my orders; That's why all the nations of the earth will be benefited through your descendants.
Abraham got down from the hill and came to his servants. After that he went to 'Beer-sheba' and lived there.
