It is an old matter that a person used to work with a Seth. Seth trusted that person a lot. Whatever the important work, Seth always used to tell the same person. That person was a great devotee of God. He always used to take advantage of God's contemplation, bhajan, kirtan, remembrance, satsang etc.
One day he asked Seth for a few days' leave to visit Shri Jagannath Dham. Seth gave him leave and said - Brother! "I am a worldly man, always busy in business work, due to which I can never take advantage of pilgrimage. If you are going, take this 100 rupees and dedicate it at the feet of Shri Jagannath Prabhu." After taking hundred rupees from the devotee Seth, he left for Shri Jagannath Dham Yatra.
After traveling on foot for several days, he reached Shri Jagannath Puri. While leaving for the temple, he saw on the way that many saints, devotees, Vaishnav people, were doing Hari Naam Sankirtan in great fun. Tears are flowing from everyone's eyes. Hari Bol, Hari Bol is echoing loudly. There was a lot of joy in the sankirtan. The devotee also stopped there and started enjoying Harinam Sankirtan.
Then he saw that the devotees doing sankirtan had dry lips because of doing sankirtan for such a long time, they also appeared to be somewhat hungry. He thought why not feed these devotees with Seth's hundred rupees.
He arranged food for all of them out of those hundred rupees. He had to spend a total of 98 rupees to feed everyone. He had two rupees left, he thought that it is good, I will offer two rupees at the feet of Jagannath ji in the name of Seth.
When Seth will ask, I will say that he has offered money. Seth will not say that he offered 100 rupees. Seth will ask have you offered the money, I will say that you have offered the money. There will be no lying and work will also be done.
The devotee entered the temple for the darshan of Shri Jagannath ji, looking at the image of Shri Jagannath ji, made him sit in his heart. At last he offered two rupees of Seth at the feet of Shri Jagannath ji. And said that Seth has sent these two rupees.
The same night Shri Jagannath ji came to Seth in a dream, blessed him and said, Seth, I have got your 98 rupees, saying this, Shri Jagannath ji disappeared. Seth woke up and started thinking that my servant is very honest.
But suddenly what was the need that he offered two rupees less to God? What did he eat for two rupees? What was the need for him? Seth kept on thinking like this.
After a long time, the devotee came back and reached Seth. Seth said that my money was offered to Jagannath ji? The devotee said yes, I offered the money. Seth said, but why did you offer 98 rupees, for what work did you use two rupees.
Then the devotee told the whole thing that he had fed the saints with 98 rupees. And only two rupees were offered to Thakurji. Seth understood the whole thing and was very happy and fell at the feet of the devotee and said - "You are blessed, because of you, I got the darshan of Shri Jagannath ji sitting here.
God has no need for your money. God accepts that 98 rupees which were spent in the service of living beings and there is no importance of those two rupees which were offered in cash at his feet.
