FSU football quarterback Jordan Travis appears to suffer serious injury, leaves in ambulance

Florida State football quarterback Jordan Travis appeared to have suffered a serious lower left leg injury in the first quarter against North Alabama Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Following Saturday's contest, FSU head coach Mike Norvell said there was no update on the status of Travis.

"Coming in we knew this was Jordan Travis's last game at Doak Campbell Stadium. I wanted to see him have a special game, special experience," Norvell said postgame.

"Anytime someone gets hurt, it hurts. It’s painful to see, it’s painful to have to go through. You want so bad for that kid because he does everything right. He really is a special young man."

Travis was tackled awkwardly on a 17-yard run on the third drive of the game for the No. 4 Seminoles.

Travis, who grabbed his left leg under his knee, was immediately attended to by FSU physicians and trainers. He was down for several minutes before being taken off the field on a cart.

Both teams came to midfield to comfort Travis before he was transported to a waiting ambulance.

Fans chanted "Jordan Travis" and he showed his appreciation for the fans.

The Seminoles were down 13-0 following a pair of touchdown scores for the Lions to start the game.

Travis was taken to the ambulance. Tate Rodemaker entered the game.

Travis still supported his team from a hospital bed, even congratulating freshman quarterback Brock Glenn on his first career touchdown.
