Home Remedies for Weight Loss

 Sage Tea 

We live in a world chased by deadlines. In such a hectic lifestyle, stress has become a part and parcel of life. And one major side effect of stress is weight loss and weight gain. You might not notice it, but when your body is under stress it is unable to perform body functions properly.

2 tsp dried sage/handful of fresh sage

Water

Lemon for taste

Honey for taste

Pour boiling water over sage and let it soak for 5 minutes. Strain the sage leaves, you can add lemon and honey for taste. Drink this 1 -2 times a day.


Honey and Ginger 

The combination of honey and ginger is one of the most beneficial for weight loss. It is also one of the simplest home remedies for weight loss. Ginger enhances satiety, thus, curbing cravings and hunger pangs. It is also a natural appetite suppressant, boosts metabolism, and helps in burning fat at a faster pace. Honey is high in fructose, which works as a fuel for the liver to produce glucose. It also releases fat burning hormones to burn excess fat in the body.


You’ll need –


3 tbsp honey

2 tbsp ginger juice

Mix honey and ginger juice and have this mix twice a day. You’ll see a difference in your body in a few weeks. Make sure you continue your healthy eating and workout routine.


Bottle Gourd 

As much as you hate eating bottle gourd, it is highly beneficial for weight loss. It is rich in fibre, so when you eat bottle gourd it creates a feeling of fullness.


Thus, in-between snacking is curbed. Having bottle gourd juice will be helpful in managing hunger pangs and curbing excessive food cravings. Make sure you have it in such a way that you’re not starving yourself. To 1 cup chilled bottle gourd juice, squeeze some lime for extra flavour.

Stress can be a major cause for weight gain. Slow and steady wins the race. Go slow and don’t stress. Your body is unable to perform any function properly under the effect of stress.

Break your meals into 5 – 6 smaller meals. This will keep you full and put a stop on in between meal snacking as well, which causes a lot of weight gain.

Don’t eat before going to bed. Your metabolism is the slowest and nearly halts when you’re asleep. So whatever you eat right before bed enhances weight gain.

Cannot stress enough on adding more water to your day. Have at least 8 – 10 glasses of water a day. It will keep your body hydrated and will flush out all the toxins from your body.

Make sure to get enough sleep. Your body needs 5-6 hours of sound sleep. Sleep deprivation is the cause of various health problems.

Don’t skip working out. Choose a workout that you like – go for a swim, dance, or just go for a jog. Do what you like and what your body allows.

If you have been working out and following a strict diet, yet haven’t been able to lose weight you should talk to your doctor. Maybe there is some medical condition that is obstructing your weight loss journey.
