Salwan Momika Died: Salwan Momika, who burnt Quran in Stockholm, died

 A person like Salwan Momika is not born every day. Momika, a leader of an Iraqi armed organization, was critical of Islamic ideas and beliefs. After burning the Quran last year, he had created a distinct identity across the world. Now a report is claiming that he died under suspicious circumstances. However, this has not been officially confirmed. Salwan Momika was the person who was repeatedly burning Quran in Sweden, due to which there have been demonstrations all over the world.





Who is Salwan Momika?

Salwan Momika, 37, is an Iraqi Christian refugee. He came to Sweden in April 2018 and received refugee status in April 2021. He described himself as an atheist and writer on his Facebook. Momika shocked the world on June 28 in the year 2023 when she attacked a copy of the Quran, the holy book of Muslims, and then burnt it in front of Stockholm's largest mosque. One of his friends had filmed this entire scene. The Quran was burnt on the day of Eid-ul-Azha. Because of this he was criticized all over the world.




Salwan's death

A radio channel reported on social media platform X on Tuesday that Salwan Momika has died. However, after some time another post was made saying that this news is awaited to be confirmed. He said that the post through which this information was given has now been removed.


Earlier it was said that Iraqi refugee and Islamic critic Salwan Saba Matti Momika was found dead in Norway. Momica was known to perform in Sweden, where she publicly burned the Quran several times.


Escaped from Iran and reached Norway via Sweden

Salvan Momika was in the news ever since she moved from Sweden to Norway. She was granted a Swedish residency permit in 2021. Momika had fled Iraq in 2018 in search of asylum. Apart from this, Salwan Momika had become a well-known face even among former Muslims. Let us tell you that with the help of the Internet, a movement of former Muslims has gained hold across the world. Salvan Momika posted on March 27, 'Today I left Sweden and am now under the protection of the authorities in Norway.'


What happened when the Quran was burnt?

June 28 – Momika waved two Swedish flags in front of Stockholm's Central Mosque and then sang its national anthem. After this he tore the Quran and threw it in the fire.





June 29 - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Sweden for this incident and said that his country will not tolerate such provocative actions.


July 2 - Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an organization of 57 Islamic countries, said that there is a need to implement international law and take joint action to stop such incidents. Sweden condemned this incident and said that it is Islamophobia.


July 3- Pope Francis condemned this incident and said that he is angry by it.


July 7- Rallies were held in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore against the incident of burning of Quran.


July 11- Muslim countries presented a resolution against it in the United Nations Human Rights Organization.


July 12- The United Nations Human Rights Council approved a resolution against hatred and bigotry.
