PSG close to 11th title with Mbappe scoring two goals

 


Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat Auxerre 2-1 to win their 11th French Football League title. The win took defending champions PSG to 84 points from 36 matches, six points ahead of second-placed Lens. Its round difference is much better than that of the lens. He now needs only one point to surpass Saint-Étienne's record of 10 titles.

Two rounds of matches are yet to be played in the league. Mbappe had put PSG ahead 2-0 till the eighth minute. Lionel Messi helped him in scoring both these goals. Mbappe has scored 28 goals so far this season, two goals ahead of Lyon striker Alexandre Locazette.

Kylian Mbappe's quick double inside eight minutes gave Paris Saint-Germain a comfortable lead and Auxerre a mountain to climb. He took both goals exceptionally well and were worthy of winning any match. On a personal note, his brace means that he has gone clear at the top of the Ligue 1 top scorers' list ahead of Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette. The 24-year-old was denied a hat-trick in stoppage time due to being a fraction offside but he will be content with his two goals and PSG's three points.
